The Migration Review Tribunal and Refugee Review Tribunal have been restructured with two other tribunals to form the 'Administrative Appeals Tribunal' (AAT), since 1 July, 2015.
The Administrative Appeals Tribunal reviews decisions made by the Australian Government under Commonwealth laws. The Migration and Refugee Division of the AAT reviews decisions made by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) and is able to consider a wide range of visa-related decisions, including refusals and cancellations based on the merits of each particular case.
The letter that you receive from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection regarding the decision to refuse or cancel your visa will refer to the exact time frame within which you must lodge your review application.
We provide our first consultation at no cost to you, where we provide advice about your legal position, options and the possible outcomes regarding your case.
